Firstly a big hello and thankyou for taking the time to read this.
My partner, who has cerebral palsy and spastic paraplegia and I, who has fibromyalgia and numerous back issues are working with professionals to get some adaptations done to our bungalow. We need an extension for mobility scooter access and storage, which will also help us move from the bungalow to car in a safe manner. Unfortunately the agencies will not help us with this minor extension to an old coal bunker which is attached to the bungalow.It already has electrics and heating. THIS IS WHERE YOU GOOD PEOPLE COME IN as we do not have any spare funds to do the alterations ourselves. We are looking for companies and individuals to volunteer knowledge, time, materials and generosity with this project. We dont have alot to spare but can supply tea, coffee and refreshments while the project is ongoing. We dont have any drawn up plans as we have no idea what we are doing but our local surveyor agrees it can be done.
We are reaching out for help so we can become as independent as possible in the safest way. We find it hard to get about and maintain an independent life and we are really struggling. We are hoping there are people out there who are willing to help us with our needs. We know this is a huge ask but having this adaptation will help our lives so much.
